Welcome to my first blog, post on my first blog and my first journaling experience. I've already hit the ground a little slower than I had imagined. I had high expectations for myself. Moving into my new home, writing blog posts as I went. Maybe even including a recipe of the bruschetta that I lovingly made ready to feed my family and friends who helped (almost willingly) with the move. Fast forwards two weeks, and in the middle of a fruitless search for the electricity MPAN number, I decided writing might well be a little more fun.
The story began in the spring when a property I had kept seeing was still showing as "under offer". The property in question was perfect, full of character, in an ideal location on the Llyn Peninsula, had a tennis court and a pool. A phone call later, a viewing was arranged for after lockdown, and the rest, as they say, was history.
The barn had been used for years purely as a holiday let. The family that had owned it had once enjoyed lots of holidays there. However, lifestyle had meant that the barn had been left purely for the enjoyment of holidayers.
In this blog, I will chronicle the evolution of the interior design of the barn, and I will show how we are lovingly maintaining this beautiful medieval building. I will share our adventures and slow days enjoying at the barn as well as taking you along on our journey of exploration around Snowdonia and North Wales.
